My housemate is such a movie freak. She practically knows the whole week’s schedule at our local movie house. She’s memorized all the blurbs of the movies she wants to see, and if you ask her what the movie is about, she’ll gladly give you the synopsis.

Her passion continues even when the movie’s theater run is over. She knows whenever there are new DVD releases (which she checks out via the movies’ official websites). The staff at the movie store know her — she’s practically there every week! She goes there so often that the store frequently gives her discounts.

Movies cost so much these days. It also takes a lot of effort to go out to watch the latest blockbuster - from going to the cinema, finding a parking space, standing in line for tickets, and making sure that you are not late for the matinee showing.

One alternative is to wait for the video release. If you can wait a month or so, the movie outfit will probably release the movie on DVD. Find a good video house that offers new movie releases on DVD. This will save you a lot of time effort and money. Just make sure that you have the popcorn to accompany your at-home screening.
