We encounter different fabrics in our daily lives. If you enjoy scuba diving, chances are that your wet suit is made from neoprene fabric. You will also notice some of your luggage shoulder straps that are made with the same fabric. Laptop sleeves, cushion covers, healthcare wraps, and orthopedic supports also use neoprene.
Neoprene comes from the synthetic rubber family that is produce by polymerization. The name neoprene is actually a trademarked name used by DuPont. It was first discovered by DuPont scientists and was initially called duprene. This is the first synthetic rubber compound that was mass-produced.
