fog fluid

February 1st, 2010

If you have watched movies that feature haunted houses or chilly winter scenes you will notice that the mood is created by a fog-like presence. Fog machines are used to create this frightful ambience. These machines also have other applications such as in industries, to visualize the flow of air; in the military, for training purposes and in entertainment, to enhance the effect of lighting. Fog from these machines is also used as a form of security measure. They are used to disorient intruders in establishments or offices.

Fog is created by vaporizing fluids that are water and glycol based. This fog fluid condenses as it comes out of the machine and is seen as a thick visible fog. There are debates about the safety of these fluids. It is believed that minimal exposure can cause headaches and dizziness while long term exposure can cause more serious effects on the lungs and respiratory system. The use of digital effects in filmmaking is a safer alternative.

drum fog juice

December 29th, 2009

Firefighters undergo thorough training before they get into professional practice. While learning their field, a drum fog juice is used to create ‘next-to-real’ smoke as if a fire is really happening. In search of a machine, opt for the ones that provide continuous smoke for longer-lasting effect. There are efficient machines with drum fog juice offered at discounted price. All you have to do is review the products well and pick your choice.

Drum fog juice is also used in movie shoots, magazine pictorials and stage plays. This is safe to use and it is environment friendly. Its continuous smoke doesn’t have any negative effect so it’s not harmful to breathe it in. When using a drum fog juice with kids around, make sure they are well-guided by adults even if the smoke effect is proven safe.

MDG fog

November 30th, 2009

A fog machine or smoke machine is a device which emits a dense vapor that appears similar to fog or smoke. Typically, fog is created by vaporizing water and glycol based fluids. This happens inside the machine. When it comes in contact with moisture outside the machine, the result is a thick visible fog. Some machines use mineral oil for the fogging process. Colloquially, this is referred to as fog juice

MDG is a Canadian-based manufacturer of reliable and durable fog generators since 1980. MDG fog has a machine that can create either a discreet mist to an overwhelming effect of pure white fog. They design and manufacture machines that can produce safe, non-toxic fog of overwhelming intensity and are therefore perfect for use in training fire fighters. Large amounts of fog simulate gas clouds for hazardous training. They are also perfect for testing light sensitive automatic fire warning systems.

fog chillers

November 2nd, 2009

I love watching shows that have lots of effects. One of the best effects that I love the most is the use of fog machines. They will create smoke like fog and create an eerie atmosphere. The best fog I’ve seen is the one that’s close to the ground and seems to be hovering. To do this you will need to create fog chillers.

A fog chiller allows the fog to remain on the ground. The fog chiller actually encloses a hot fog and releases it. The fog that comes out of a fog chiller is controlled. It does not go up easily as most fogs do. This device is practical when used for stage plays and for special effects.

Neutron Haze

September 1st, 2009

If you happen to see fogs all over the place but it is not actually cold and misty, then, it must be the special effect produced by a machine next to you. More popularly known as the Neutron Haze machine, this is the evolution of the award-winning S.T.A.R.T. technology. This has an enhanced straight tube-hazing element, which possibly produces greater output and a self-cleaning mode. Neutron also provides a nonstop silent output without the residue associated with any oil-based product.

This technological enhancement has a continuous runtime of up to 160 hours. The clean-water-based air effect is best used for:

~ theatrical shows

Haze machines

July 6th, 2009

Nightclubs get their smoky look not from cigarettes but from artificial fog. Haze machines serve as fog generators to highlight lighting or laser effects that make nightclubs more attractive to their young clients. In rock and roll concerts, some bands also prefer to have smoky effects inside the venues.

Haze machines can further create more dramatic effects in plays and even magic shows. The smoke or fog projects a more realistic ambience to enhance a creepy scene or a cold foggy environment. It can also be used to screen magic tricks while accompanied with some choice dramatic sound effects.

Rosco fog

June 8th, 2009

Our office is right next door to a supermarket. Every morning I see a frozen delivery truck bring in hundreds of ice cream products. Whenever the door to the van opens, a Rosco fog appears. This fog is similar to what I see at the start of shows. The fog is caused by the materials used to keep the ice cream cold.

Storing ice cream products is not that simple, you do not just need ice or a freezer. My son celebrated his first birthday last month. We had his party in a park and since we gave all the kids ice cream, we had a special box with dry ice that could keep the ice cream cold for four hours. When you opened the box, a Rosco fog appears. This Rosco fog can also be done using special machines that produce fogs for the theater.
