Don’t wait for a major disaster to happen. Be on red alert always and protect your family from any harm. Always equip your home with disaster kits. These are needed for home or evacuation. Disaster kits are usually kept in an easy-to-carry backpack or duffel bag near a door where they can easily be reached. The instant rescue packages contain portable, battery-powered radio or television to be updated with the disaster-related goings-on. There’s also flashlight with extra batteries inside to keep the family company the moment lights turn out.
The disaster kits contain more. They are the basics that can shield them from any probable harm. Here are some:
~ gallons of water per person
~ three-day supply of non-perishable food
~ kitchen accessories like manual can opener, mess kits or paper cups, plates and plastic/disposable utensils, utility knife, can or sachet of cooking fuel, etcÂ…
~ a complete change of clothing and footwear for every family member
~ blankets or sleeping bags for the whole family
~ sanitation and hygiene items like toilet paper, soap, towels, hand sanitizers, toothpaste, toothbrush, etc.
