A lot of tea manufacturers have come and gone. However, there is one company that has become an institution in the production of tea. It may be a surprise to most of us but this company is no oriental nor Chinese but rather based on the English soil. The brand that has captivated tea drinkers for more than 300 years already is the Twinings tea company.
It was believed that tea first originated in China in the time of Emperor Shennong in 2737 BC. However tea was also introduced to the English when it was introduced to aristocrats by the young Portuguese wife of Charles II, Catherine of Braganza in 1662. Then it was Thomas Twining business insight on tea trade that made teas available to every English breakfast table till today. From its modest shop in London in 1706 Twinings teas are now globally available and enjoyed by almost all nationalities in the world.
