beer belly

Central obesity or having an apple-shaped middle is commonly referred to as belly fat. It is the accumulation of visceral fat that results in increased waist size. Some people refer to this roundness as a beer belly although there is little scientific evidence that proves beer drinkers are more prone to this condition.
Other terms for central obesity are beer gut, beer pot or love handles. The severity of central obesity is determined by taking hip and waist measurements. According to studies, waist circumference is a better indicator for obesity-related health risk than body mass index (BMI). If you have a “beer belly” find ways how to trim down as there is a strong connection between central obesity and cardiovascular disease.
