Going after your favorite game will bring you to extreme outdoor conditions. In planning for the trip, you should consider the worst possible circumstances – crunchy snow, loose rocks, and chest deep rivers to cross. Extreme weather is within the realm of possibility. The first line of defense is being prepared with clothing and equipment that can take all of these adverse situations. A few suggestions are proper garments, waterproof binoculars, handheld radios and survival kits.

For beginners, it is suggested to attend a hunting safety course. These courses go over gun safety and handling. It teaches the basics of care and precautions that should be taken. You can also learn a lot from your experienced companions. Keep your eyes and ears open for tips and tricks they are all too willing to pass on from time to time.
