You would think that buying an electric guitar would be easy. If the reverberation sounds right and the feel is good, the inexperienced will think that he has found his guitar. Not so. There are many other factors to look into when choosing a good quality guitar. Whether you are ready to invest in an expensive one or are just browsing through cheap electric guitars you have to consider a few details.

A solid body produces loud amplification and provides lots of effects. Scale length influences both the tonal quality of the notes produced and the tension of the string at a particular pitch. The number of frets and the distances between them has a bearing on intonation. Intonation determines whether or not the notes play in tune as you move up the neck. The finish may have no effect on the sound, but it is one of the first things you notice in a guitar. Once you start looking at guitars you will learn more.
