Jesus cross

Christians are all too familiar with the cross. It is the symbol of redemption, as in Jesus dying on the cross to save mankind. A Jesus cross is often worn as a form of reverence. Some will look to it as a symbol of penance. There are those who feel that reverence of the cross is a form of idol worship.

But the cross has earned a different kind of adulation. As a form of jewelry, the cross has evolved in sophistication. The very rich wear it studded with diamonds or colored precious stones. The chain from which it hangs cannot be less than a 24 karat gold chain. It is stored in boxes with plush padding to prevent scratches and because it is of such value, it is kept under lock and key.
