Losing things that are of great value could be a very tragic event. Therefore, it is important that you secure your valuables from theft and from calamities like flood or fire. Especially when there are very important documents that you keep, a fireproof safe is recommended. Some can be mounted on walls and some on the floor.
A fireproof safe is typically made of special materials that could resist high temperatures, fire and physical effects of fire. Depending on its thickness, this safe could stand from 30 minutes to 4 hours. This is proven durable as each unit is usually put through rigorous fire resistance tests. It is a fact however, that not all fireproof safes are waterproof. So it’s important that you still seal your valuables with waterproof containers like zip locks.
