What do you pack in your luggage? To me, the most important purpose of the carry on luggage is to make sure that you can continue with your business or vacation even if you lose one or more of your checked in luggage. If you are on a business trip, include a set of business clothes, underwear and whatever basic cosmetics are allowable. Important papers should likewise be carried in the bag. Surely, you will be inconvenienced by delayed or lost luggage but you are still a step ahead when you have prepared for the emergency.
Remember that limits are set for carry on luggage for a reason. You don’t want it to be too heavy for your own comfort and for the reason that it might cause injury if it falls out of the storage bin. Be knowledgeable of the rules regarding liquids in your carry on luggage. The 3-1-1 rule still applies so make sure that these are observed. If everybody does, security lines in the airport will not be as long and everybody will be happy.
