unity candle set

Planning a wedding can be either stressful or fun. For the bride-to-be, if you want your wedding planning to be fun you need to ask for help from your closest and most trusted friends. Keep in mind that the most important part of the wedding is always the wedding ceremony. The dresses, the reception, the food and the flowers are all secondary. If you are having a Christian wedding you may opt to buy a unity candle set. This part of the wedding after all symbolizes a bride and groom becoming one in marriage.

A unity candle set often includes one pillar candle – the unity candle and two taper or smaller candles on each side. The two taper candles are placed separately beside the bride and the groom. Typically, a family member of both the bride and the groom lights the taper candle. The bride and groom then each bring the lighted taper candle and together light the unity candle (the pillar candle). The lighting of the unity candle is mostly done in ceremonies that are held indoors, obviously for beach, garden and other outdoor wedding ceremonies; a lighted candle might not last long due to winds.
